PPYC’s Club Boat Program

With the support of Metro Parks and Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina, PPYC has embarked on a club boat program for
Active level members (Associate level members must upgrade to
Active level before they can participate in the club boat program). The goal of the program is to provide sailboats that qualified members, who would not otherwise have access to a boat, can use on a scheduled basis. The program was
launched in 2007 with the donation of an O’Day 23. In 2008 we added a Northstar 500 to the program and in 2009 we added a Catalina 22.
We have implemented a two-level system of participation in the Club Boat Program. Those wanting to sail only the O’Day 23 and Catalina 22 can join the program at the Ensign Level. Those wanting to sail the Northstar 500 as well as the Catalina 22 and O’Day 23 can join the program at the Pilot Level which has a higher level of certification.
Starting in 2012, the fee will be the same for both levels. Pilot Level skippers are also allowed to race any of the club boats in
club races and regattas.
