Youth Sailing Camp 2010
Summer is that time of the year when parents of young children
are scrambling to arrange summer vacation schedules. Camps, trips with pals,
summer school, visits to grandparents enough to make your PDA melt
down. And, just think about the blended families and those with the dreaded
species: teenagers. Yikes!!!
Sailing Camp 2010 To The Rescue!
Again this year, the Nashville Sailing Foundation and PPYC will host a summer sailing camp for young sailors during the month of June.
There will be two weeks of camp on Percy Priest Lake: June 21 - 25 and June 28 - July 2. Boats used for instruction will be Optis and Sunfish. Camp counselors/instructors will be area high school or college students. PPYC members will serve as volunteers to help run the camp and man the chase boats.
Being able to sail a boat really empowers kids and offers
them a lot of experience with strategic thought and helps promote their
self-confidence.
So...
Have your kids, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandkids, neighbors join us!
PPYC Volunteers Needed!
Adult volunteers are needed to help with the camp. It is
very rewarding to see young people learn a sport/hobby that they can enjoy
for the rest of their lives. If you are a PPYC member and would like to help
with the camp, please contact Marc Fortune (contact information below).
