Support Youth Sailing in Nashville

The Nashville Sailing Foundation (NSF) has been formed to promote sailing activities for youngsters in the Nashville area. NSF is acquiring, primarily through donations, boats and equipment for use in Nashville's youth sailing camps.

Youth Sailing Camp 2008

Summer is that time of the year when parents of young children are scrambling to arrange summer vacation schedules. Camps, trips with pals, summer school, visits to grandparents enough to make your PDA melt down. And, just think about the blended families and those with the dreaded species: teenagers. Yikes!!!

Last year PPYC, along with Harbor Island Yacht Club, hosted over 100 campers in Lasers, Optis and Sunfish. Two weeks at HIYC and two weeks with PPYC at Hamilton Creek Sailboat Marina.

Counselors were upperclassmen at area High Schools or college students. Parents and Club volunteers manned the chase boats. We're on again this year for the month of June.

Adult volunteers are needed to help, and it is very rewarding to see young people learn a sport /hobby that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. Sailing Camp 2007--Sunfish 2

Being able to sail a boat really empowers kids and offers them a lot of experience with strategic thought and helps promote their self-confidence.

Have your kids, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandkids, neighbors join us! And you, too!
